Still having this problem on PS4. I'm getting this issue too on PC, Windows 10. Looks like Activision has a profanity filter that triggers on usernames when you change/add a clan tag, some people are changing their names and it's working. They used to only filter the clan tags now the program reads the whole gamertag.
