Whenever I start a new playthrough, I try to use a combination of pokemon that I've never used before, and pokemon that I haven't used in a long time.

I love Trapinch -> Flygon. While Hoenn has great dragons (Altaria, Flygon, Salamence), Trapinch is possibly the best for a playthrough.
