Directv closed captioning not working
Aug 11, 2019 · Closed Captioning not working correctly. I have a Genie Lite Model H44-500. The closed captioning only shows part of what is being said. This happened before and I got a replacement box of the same model which seemed to fix the problem, but now it's happening again. As a hearing impaired person I rely on the closed captions. When you turn on captioning on your DIRECTV receiver, you have two options. You can choose “Closed Captioning” or “DIRECTV Subtitles.” It may seem weird to have two choices, and it may be hard for you to decide which one is right for you. Aug 13, 2019 · The easy way to get closed captions on DIRECTV. All DIRECTV HD receivers have the ability to do this and it’s easy to get to. Press the INFO button and arrow over to “CC.” You’ll have the option of Closed Captions or DIRECTV Subtitles, which are usually better but don’t “strictly” meet the FCC definition of captioning. The closed captions are showing despite the option being turned off. I can change between the normal and the DirecTV ones, but they don’t go away when I turn them off. I’ve also checked to make sure they aren’t turned on through the TV itself, and they aren’t.
